In order to turn a room in his house into an unmatched cinematic experience, Mody Cakes' creator, Lalu Mody, realised he needed a team that was knowledgeable about both technology and artistic expression. Lalu envisioned an environment where acoustic, visual, and design aspects seamlessly blended to create something special because he is a director who values excellence in all forms. What was the outcome? An incredible 7.2.4 home theatre system that goes above and beyond.

The Journey to Perfection: Lalu Mody’s Personalized Home Theatre Experience -

In order to realise his goal of creating the best home theatre experience possible, Lalu Mody realised that choosing the ideal blend of design, technology, and immersive sound was essential. In order to make sure that everything was perfect, we asked him to come to our Experience Centre so he could truly feel our many products and decide which one best fit his cinematic goals. 

At our Experience Centre, Lalu had the chance to explore a range of audio and visual equipment from some of the world’s top brands. With our expert team guiding him through the options, he was able to experience firsthand how each system performed in a real-world environment. It was about how the equipment made him feel, not simply about seeing and hearing it. The objective was to create the ideal audio-visual system to complement Lalu's love of films and turn his movie nights into real blockbusters.

After experimenting with a few different audio systems, Lalu was instantly pulled to our Klipsch brand. He made the decision because of their immersive soundstage and the richness and purity of their speakers. What he had envisioned for his home cinema was the Klipsch Reference Premier line, renowned for its crisp, lifelike sound and dynamic range.

We scheduled a site survey once it became evident that Lalu preferred Klipsch. From the very start, the goal was clear—create a theatre that felt personal and unique, blending cutting-edge technology with an elegant, sophisticated design. As a fan of immersive media and contemporary design, It was clear that Lalu was passionate in excellence about his theatre. The room's dimensions—12 feet wide by 20 feet long—would be changed to create a multi-sensory area that was both opulent and practical.

"After conducting a site survey, I realised that this room was originally intended as a utility space, positioned between two master bedrooms. Given its central location, I knew that soundproofing would be essential to prevent audio leakage into the adjoining rooms.I decided on a Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating of at least 65 to ensure optimal sound containment. With the room’s dimensions, I confidently assured the client that we could achieve a full 7.2.4 configuration, balancing immersive audio with the highest level of acoustic isolation."

Design & Color Theme: A Symphony of Blue, Grey, and Black -

The design concept focused on a sophisticated colour scheme consisting of black, grey, and blue. In addition to producing a sleek and contemporary look, these colours enhanced the theatre's immersive experience. While the grey accents provide a neutral balance, the deep blue tones on the walls inspire a sense of serenity and concentration.

The subtle use of black through floor finishes and ceiling details grounds the room and intensifies the visual drama, giving it a sense of both intimacy and expanse. Together, these hues produced an ambiance that struck a balance between aesthetics and practicality, resulting in a very remarkable visual experience.

The Ultimate in Visuals: Sony XW5000ES & Elite AcousticPro Screen -

Because of its exceptional 4K clarity and depth, a Sony XW5000ES projector was chosen to realise Lalu's cinematic vision. "I'll tell you why this screen is ideal for Lalu's home theatre. “The recliners are perfect,” Lalu remarked. “They’re just the right balance of style and comfort. I could sit in them for hours, watching everything from a drama to an action film, and still feel at ease.”

Setting the mood of the room was greatly influenced by the lighting. Profile lighting throughout the space adds a subtle, ambient glow without overpowering the experience by softly highlighting the ceiling and walls.

Carpet & Flooring: Soft, Yet Durable -

Marantz Cinema 40 AV receiver was selected to power the theatre due to its precise audio management capabilities. It improves the output of each Klipsch speaker and is renowned for its rich sound quality and meticulous audio processing, guaranteeing that every detail—from subdued conversations to dramatic action—is conveyed with depth and clarity.

Klipsch Reference Series Inwall Speaker Systems -

Without taking up any visible space, the Klipsch PRO-250RPW in-wall LCR speakers provide the theatre with a well-balanced, high-fidelity soundscape. Also, they are ideal for providing a front-channel clarity while keeping a clean, modest or hidden appearance in the space because of their strong output and in-wall construction.
