Axiom LFR1100HP Active Omnidirectional Speakers

Omnidirectional speakers have had a cult following among music lovers ‘in the know’ for years. Why? Because their wide-open 3D soundstage transforms your room into a huge concert venue. Traditionally they have done this at the expense of the pinpoint detail, but now you can have both! By using a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) between the front and rear drivers the LFR series of omnidirectional speakers have both a wide-open 3D soundstage and pinpoint detail. They provide the most immersive, transporting musical experience you have ever experienced.

When our LFR omnidirectional loving customers challenged us to take things even further, we were intrigued. We decided to take the DSP control from just the front and rear to all five driver groups and create the LFR1100 Active. The Active version of the LFR1100 loudspeaker creates even more accurate playback than the standard passive version through more detailed control over the Family of Amplitude Response Curves. We were able to make the Sound Power curve and the Listening Window curve the same and the results from doing this were beyond our wildest expectations, the realism of the sound is scary! It also plays louder and more dynamically through the elimination of the passive crossover networks. Each speaker has its own DSP, tightly controlling each driver group to give you unprecedented dynamic range. Voices are crystal-clear. Cymbals shimmer and bass can be felt, not just heard.

There is one DSP included with each LFR1100 Active (two per pair). It has one input (RCA or XLR) and six outputs (RCA or XLR) which separate the information sent to each of the five driver groups in the speaker along with an optional subwoofer output for each speaker. The outputs are designated for each driver group. By clicking on “More Finishes and Options” above you can have a set of 14 cables made-to-order in whatever length you need. This custom set of cables is color coded to make it easy to keep track of all the wiring.

The DSP included is in a stand-alone case. The input to the DSP is connected to the output of your pre-amp, receiver pre-out, or AxiomAir Transformer. The AxiomAir Transformer gives you music streaming via AirPlay, Spotify Connect, TIDAL, and UPnP. You can also store songs on a USB Drive or NAS and control the playback from the AxiomAir App. It has both an Analog and Optical input for other sources like a Turntable and TV. For those who are into Karaoke you can plug the AxiomAir Karaoke Module into your Transformer and control the music and microphones from the AxiomAir App.

The LFR1100 Active provides serious sound power, the amount of energy radiated into the room from 11 drivers will blow your mind! The front baffle features three High Powered 6.5-inch woofers, two 5.25-inch midrange/woofers, and two 1-inch tweeters, with our signature vortex port in the bottom. The rear baffle adds three more vortex ports, two more 5.25-inch midrange/woofers, and another two 1-inch tweeters. If you haven't guessed already, it takes some serious amplification to drive these speakers! A total of 10 amp channels of amplification, in fact, 5 channels per speaker; front HF, front MF, front LF, rear HF, and rear LF all need to be powered separately and it makes these speakers truly sing.

We have three amp power levels to choose from, all available in a 5-channel version to run each of your LFR1100 Active speakers, the ADA1000-5, ADA1250-5, or the ultimate ADA1500-5. You will love the dynamic range you will experience. These speakers feature titanium tweeters paired with aluminum woofers and midrange drivers, combining lightweight materials and rigid construction for clear, detailed highs and dynamic, distortion-free mid and low frequencies. Their anti-standing-wave cabinets are specially designed to suppress internal resonances that can color the sound, resulting in a cleaner and more natural audio experience.

Vortex-ported cabinets further enhance performance by reducing port noise, allowing for smooth and powerful bass reproduction. Custom-programmed digital signal processing (DSP) provides full control over the speaker’s tonal balance with a family of curves, enabling precise tuning to suit different listening preferences and environments. For robust and reliable connectivity, the speakers are equipped with 5-way gold-plated binding posts, ensuring secure connections and excellent signal transfer.
