The Bowers & Wilkins 705 S3 is a premium stand-mount loudspeaker that combines cutting-edge engineering with elegant design. At its core is the advanced Carbon Dome tweeter, carefully housed in the brand’s renowned Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top enclosure, a design refined from the flagship 800 Series Diamond to deliver exceptional clarity and precision in the high frequencies. This innovative tweeter system works in harmony with a newly curved baffle that not only enhances the speaker’s aesthetic appeal but also reduces unwanted diffraction for cleaner sound dispersion. Adding to its performance, the 705 S3 incorporates a specially designed Continuum Cone bass/midrange driver, mounted in a unique ‘pod’ housing that improves openness, transparency, and midrange accuracy. Together, these elements create a highly detailed, natural, and spacious soundstage, making the 705 S3 ideal for both music lovers and audiophiles seeking true-to-life performance from a compact speaker. A House For High Frequencies
The 700 Series features the latest generation of our iconic Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top housing. Its new, more elongated form incorporates a longer tube-loading system to produce an even more free and open sound with high frequencies. The carefully decoupled housing is milled from a single solid block of aluminium to better resist resonance.
Sharper Detail
Carbon Dome tweeters are purpose-built for the 700 Series. Delivering a dramatic improvement on the aluminium double dome tweeter, they raise the breakup threshold to 47kHz, for pinpoint imaging accuracy and detail.
Truly Amazing Sound
Thanks to its composite construction, the Continuum™ cone avoids the abrupt transitions in behaviour that can impair the performance of a conventional drive unit. The result is a more open, neutral performance that delivers voices and instruments with precision and transparency.
