The TS108 belongs to EVE Audio’s renowned ThunderStorm subwoofer range, engineered to deliver precise and controlled bass reproduction. Thanks to the use of a passive radiator design, the TS108 completely avoids low-port noise and distortion, ensuring clean and accurate low frequencies even at higher volumes. Each ThunderStorm subwoofer includes detailed adjustment options such as switchable satellite filters (full range or 80 Hz), phase control (0° / 180°), and variable subwoofer crossover frequencies from 60 to 140 Hz, allowing you to perfectly adapt the subwoofer to your room and monitoring system.

At the heart of the TS108 is a highly efficient 150W PWM amplifier paired with a proprietary 8-inch woofer. This combination enables the subwoofer to reach down to an impressive 33 Hz on the low end while extending up to 300 Hz, delivering a solid and impactful bass response with a maximum sound pressure level of 105 dB (SPL @ 1 m).

Overall, the ThunderStorm subwoofer series is designed to make any sound system feel more complete, adding weight, clarity, and realism to the low-frequency spectrum. In terms of connectivity, the TS108 offers excellent flexibility. Like all EVE Audio subwoofers, it features balanced XLR inputs and outputs (Stereo In/Out, LFE In, and LFE/Sub Out) for seamless integration into professional audio setups. Additionally, an unbalanced input is included for direct connection with compact monitors such as the SC203.

The DSP

A notable highlight of the TS108 is its intelligent DSP section, which uses a high-resolution Burr-Brown converter. Importantly, this DSP processing affects only the subwoofer itself. The signal path to the satellite speakers remains purely analog, with no A/D/A conversion. When the “Pure Satellite” function is activated, the subwoofer and DSP filters are completely bypassed, allowing you to adjust only the satellite volume while preserving signal integrity.

The included remote control adds further convenience, enabling you to control both the subwoofer level and the overall stereo system volume directly from your listening position.

The passive radiator

What truly sets the TS108 apart is its passive radiator design, which replaces the conventional bass reflex port. This eliminates all audible noise caused by air turbulence, resulting in a cleaner and more accurate bass response.

Unwanted pipe resonances common in bass reflex systems due to two-sided port openings are completely avoided. The passive radiator’s suspension provides a restoring force below its tuning frequency, reducing unnecessary subsonic excursions. This leads to lower intermodulation distortion and improved clarity within the working frequency range. Thanks to this design, the TS108 achieves an impressively low cut-off frequency while maintaining a compact cabinet, making it a powerful yet space-efficient low-frequency solution.
