The Linn Klimax DSM AV is Linn’s flagship network music player and integrated preamplifier, combining the reference-quality Organik digital-to-analogue converter (DAC) architecture with HDMI connectivity for music, television, films, and games. Powered by Linn’s Utopik power supply, it is engineered to deliver exceptional audio performance across a wide range of digital and analogue sources.

The Klimax DSM AV features four HDMI 2.0 inputs and one HDMI output with ARC and eARC, supporting compatible 4K video at up to 60 Hz. Its versatile connectivity includes analogue, optical, coaxial, and USB audio inputs, along with balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs. Two Exakt Link connections allow integration with compatible Linn Exakt systems, while an optional surround-sound processing upgrade further expands its home entertainment capabilities.

Organik Conversion

Digital-to-Analogue Conversion Developed by Linn

The Linn Klimax DSM AV uses Linn’s Organik DAC architecture to convert digital music and compatible entertainment audio into an analogue signal. Designed and developed by Linn, the Organik DAC combines FPGA processing, a discrete conversion stage, and an analogue output architecture into one integrated system, rather than relying on a conventional off-the-shelf DAC solution.

This approach gives Linn precise control over the digital-to-analogue conversion process, including timing, filtering, and signal conversion, as well as the handling of the analogue signal before it leaves the player. The result is an audio architecture engineered to deliver the performance and refinement expected from Linn’s flagship network music player.

HDMI Connectivity

Connect Television, Films, Games and Video Sources

The Linn Klimax DSM AV features four HDMI 2.0 inputs, allowing compatible games consoles, streaming boxes, disc players, and other video sources to connect through a single integrated system.

One HDMI output connects to a compatible television or display and also supports eARC, allowing audio from the television to return to the Linn system through the same cable.

The HDMI implementation supports compatible 4K video at up to 60 Hz, along with HDR, HDCP 2.2, ARC, eARC, and CEC, providing convenient connectivity for modern home entertainment systems.

Optional Surround Processing

Develop the System Beyond Stereo

The Linn Klimax DSM AV can be upgraded with compatible Linn surround-sound processing, providing a pathway for customers looking to expand beyond stereo into a multichannel home entertainment system.

With integrated volume control, the Klimax DSM AV can connect directly to compatible power amplifiers, eliminating the need for a separate preamplifier and helping simplify the overall system.

The Linn Klimax DSM AV supports compatible PCM audio up to 24-bit/384 kHz and DSD playback up to DSD256, making it suitable for extensive collections of high-resolution digital music.

Supported audio formats include FLAC, Apple Lossless (ALAC), WAV, DSD, MP3, WMA, AIFF, AAC, and OGG, providing flexibility across a wide range of digital music libraries.
