Linn Selekt DSM Classic Hub

The Linn Selekt DSM Classic Hub is the foundation of a fully configurable Linn music system, designed to grow with your system rather than lock you into one fixed combination of source, conversion and amplification. Its modular internal architecture allows DAC performance, analogue outputs, onboard power amplification and entertainment modules to be selected around your loudspeakers, sources, room and future upgrade plans.

Alongside its configurable architecture, the Classic Hub includes high-resolution network playback, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Roon Ready support, moving-magnet and moving-coil phono inputs, line-level analogue connectivity, digital inputs and two Exakt Link connections.

The Linn Selekt DSM Classic Hub is a versatile, modular network music player designed to serve as the foundation of a flexible Linn audio and home entertainment system. Its adaptable architecture allows it to be configured as a music source, preamplifier, integrated amplifier or multichannel entertainment hub, depending on the selected configuration and compatible components.

Built on Linn’s fully modular Selekt DSM platform, the Classic Hub offers a choice of Standard, Katalyst or Organik digital-to-analogue converter (DAC) options to suit different system requirements. Configurable analogue outputs and power amplification provide flexibility when building a system around the user's preferred loudspeakers and listening needs.

Linn Space Optimisation helps tailor system performance to the listening room, while Exakt connectivity enables integration with compatible Linn Exakt components. Powered by Linn’s Utopik power supply, the Selekt DSM Classic Hub combines modular design, flexible system configuration and advanced audio technology in one component. It is available in Classic Black or Classic Silver finishes, allowing it to complement a variety of interiors.

Build the Selekt DSM Your System Needs

The Selekt DSM Classic Hub can be configured as a source-only network music player, a preamplifier with analogue outputs, an integrated amplifier with onboard power amplification, or part of a compatible multichannel system. The ideal configuration depends on the loudspeakers, power amplifiers, room, connected sources and required level of digital-to-analogue conversion.

Choose Your DAC Performance

Compatible Selekt DSM output cartridges can be paired with a choice of Linn DAC modules. The Standard DAC provides the entry point to the platform, Katalyst offers Linn’s established high-performance conversion architecture, and Organik represents Linn’s reference DAC technology. The selected DAC module forms part of the complete configuration and is not automatically included with the base Classic Hub.

Source, Preamplifier or Integrated Amplifier

Stereo line-output cartridges allow the Selekt DSM to connect to compatible external power amplifiers through analogue outputs. Stereo power-output cartridges add two channels of onboard Class-D amplification, allowing suitable passive loudspeakers to connect directly to the Selekt DSM. Hybrid cartridge options can combine analogue outputs with onboard power amplification, providing further flexibility when designing a system.

Streaming and High-Resolution Playback

The Selekt DSM can play compatible music stored on a local network and access supported streaming platforms and internet radio services. It supports music files up to 24-bit/384 kHz and formats including FLAC, Apple Lossless, WAV, DSD, MP3, WMA, AIFF, AAC and OGG. Supported services include TIDAL, Qobuz, Spotify Connect, Deezer, AirPlay 2, Roon, airable, TuneIn and Calm Radio. Service availability and subscription requirements may vary by region and change over time.

Connect Digital and Analogue Sources

The Classic Hub offers a range of source connections for compatible televisions, turntables, computers, disc players and other audio components. Its analogue input stage supports moving-magnet, moving-coil and line-level sources, allowing a compatible turntable to connect without necessarily requiring a separate phono stage. Optical, SPDIF and USB connections provide additional options for digital sources.

Television and HDMI Integration

An HDMI eARC connection allows audio from a compatible television to play through the Linn system. With the optional HDMI switching module, the Selekt DSM can accommodate four HDMI inputs and one HDMI output, connecting compatible streaming devices, games consoles and disc players through a single system. The HDMI 2.0 platform supports compatible 4K video at up to 60 Hz, HDR, HDCP 2.2, ARC, eARC and CEC.

Optional Surround-Sound Configuration

With the required DSP and HDMI modules, the Selekt DSM can be configured for compatible surround-sound systems. Supported configurations can extend up to 7.2 channels, depending on the selected output cartridges, DAC modules, amplification and wider system design. Supported surround formats include Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital and a range of compatible DTS formats.

Exakt Connectivity

Two Exakt Link connections allow the Selekt DSM Classic Hub to connect digitally to compatible Linn Exakt loudspeakers and Exaktbox products. This enables integration with Linn’s digital crossover and loudspeaker-processing architecture, allowing the wider system to develop without necessarily replacing the hub.

Linn Space Optimisation

Linn Space Optimisation models how room characteristics and loudspeaker positions affect low-frequency performance. Room dimensions, construction materials, practical speaker placement and the main listening area can be considered during configuration. This allows the system to be tailored to the actual listening environment rather than relying solely on generic settings.

Utopik Power Supply

The Selekt DSM Classic Hub uses Linn’s Utopik power-supply architecture, designed to provide efficient, stable power to the streaming, control and optional audio modules housed within the enclosure. It forms an integral part of the system’s overall design.

Classic Folded-Aluminium Construction

The Classic Hub features powder-coated, folded-aluminium casework mounted on an 8 mm machined-aluminium base. An acrylic front fascia, cut-glass central dial and six machined stainless-steel smart buttons create a distinctive physical interface. The smart buttons can provide direct access to favourite albums, playlists, radio stations or connected inputs, combining tactile control with the flexibility of the Selekt DSM platform.
