The Linn Sondek LP12 Deck Only provides the core turntable platform for building a bespoke LP12 system around the customer’s chosen components.

It is intended for professionally specified installations where the tonearm, cartridge, phono stage, motor-control system and supporting upgrades are selected separately.

The Linn Sondek LP12 Deck Only offers a flexible starting point for customers who want to create an LP12 around a particular tonearm, cartridge and system level.

Rather than purchasing a fixed complete package, the deck can be configured to suit the wider audio system, listening priorities and planned upgrade path.

A foundation for a bespoke LP12

The deck-only option allows the remaining LP12 components to be selected individually. This may include the sub-chassis, armboard, motor-control system, base, tonearm, cartridge and phono stage, depending on the intended configuration.

Not supplied as a complete turntable

This product should not be presented as a complete ready-to-play turntable. A suitable tonearm, cartridge and compatible phono-stage arrangement will be required before the system can be used for vinyl playback.

Tonearm and cartridge selection

The tonearm and cartridge should be chosen together, with the armboard, sub-chassis and phono stage taken into account.

Motor and power-supply options

The LP12 deck can be configured with an appropriate motor and power-supply system according to the desired specification. Available routes may include compatible Majik, Lingo or Radikal-based arrangements, subject to the complete turntable build.

Sub-chassis and armboard options

The selected sub-chassis and armboard determine how the bearing and tonearm are supported within the suspended turntable structure.

Options should be matched to the intended tonearm and wider LP12 specification before the build is confirmed.

Plinth finish and personalisation

The plinth specification and finish should be confirmed as part of the order.

Where available, Linn personalisation options such as Piano Black or White High Gloss may carry an additional charge and should not be assumed to be included in the deck-only price.

Professional assembly and setup

The Linn Sondek LP12 is a suspended turntable and requires careful mechanical assembly and configuration.

The suspension, bearing, platter level, tonearm geometry, cartridge alignment and tracking settings should all be completed by an experienced Linn specialist.
