Linn Utopik for Machined Radikal and Klimax Exaktbox

Description

The Linn Utopik for Machined Radikal and Klimax Exaktbox is a dedicated power-supply upgrade designed for compatible machined Radikal units and appropriate Klimax Exaktbox hardware. It replaces the existing internal power-supply architecture with a Linn Utopik power supply. Compatibility should be confirmed against the individual product specification before ordering, and professional fitting is available from Rococo Systems.

Linn Utopik for Machined Radikal and Klimax Exaktbox

The Linn Utopik for Machined Radikal and Klimax Exaktbox is a dedicated internal power-supply upgrade for compatible machined Radikal and Klimax Exaktbox components.

Rather than replacing the complete product, Utopik allows suitable existing Linn hardware to benefit from a newer power-supply architecture while retaining the core component around it.

Upgrade the power at source

A dedicated Utopik upgrade for premium Linn hardware

The quality of the power supplied to precision audio electronics matters throughout the signal chain.

Utopik is designed to replace the existing internal power supply within compatible Linn products, updating a fundamental part of the component rather than adding an external accessory.

Internal power-supply upgrade

Utopik replaces the existing compatible internal power-supply hardware rather than sitting outside the product as an additional box.

Radikal compatibility

Designed for compatible machined-enclosure Linn Radikal hardware.

Klimax Exaktbox compatibility

The same dedicated upgrade is available for appropriate Klimax Exaktbox units.

Why upgrade a power supply?

The foundation beneath the electronics

A power supply is responsible for converting incoming mains electricity into the regulated power required by the circuits inside the component.

That makes it part of the foundation on which the rest of the product operates.

Upgrading this stage allows compatible Linn hardware to benefit from a newer internal power-supply design without replacing the entire Radikal or Exaktbox.

One upgrade, two applications

Machined Radikal and Klimax Exaktbox

This Utopik version is not a universal replacement power supply for every Linn product.

It is specifically intended for compatible examples of two premium Linn platforms: the machined Radikal motor-control and power-supply unit used with the Sondek LP12, and Klimax Exaktbox hardware used within Linn Exakt systems.

Because both products have existed in different generations and specifications, the individual unit should be identified before an upgrade is ordered.

Retain the core component

The upgrade allows compatible existing hardware to be developed rather than requiring complete replacement.

Specification-led

Suitability depends on the exact generation and specification of the Radikal or Klimax Exaktbox being upgraded.

Specialist installation

As an internal electronics upgrade, Utopik should be fitted and checked by an experienced Linn specialist.

For LP12 owners

Utopik within a machined Radikal system

Radikal provides the DC motor control and power-supply architecture for compatible Sondek LP12 configurations.

For owners of appropriate machined Radikal hardware, this Utopik upgrade provides a route to update the internal power-supply stage while retaining the existing Radikal platform.

For Exakt systems

Utopik within Klimax Exaktbox

Klimax Exaktbox performs six-channel Exakt digital crossover processing and Organik digital-to-analogue conversion in current specification.

For compatible existing units, Utopik addresses the power-supply stage rather than the crossover or DAC architecture itself.

This means power-supply and Organik DAC upgrades should be considered as separate elements when assessing an older Klimax Exaktbox.

Utopik or Organik?

Two different Klimax Exaktbox upgrades

For compatible Klimax Exaktbox hardware, Utopik and Organik address different parts of the component.

Utopik upgrades the internal power-supply architecture. Organik DAC Upgrade upgrades the digital-to-analogue conversion stage. Depending on the age and specification of the unit, one or both upgrade routes may be relevant.
