The McIntosh DA2 Digital Audio Module is our newest and most advanced digital audio processing module, designed to bring next-level performance to your McIntosh home audio system. Standard in the C55, C53, C2800, and C2700 Preamplifiers as well as the MA12000, MA9500, and MA8950 Integrated Amplifiers, the DA2 delivers cutting-edge innovations in digital audio. For owners of units equipped with the previous DA1 module, such as the MA9000, MA8900, MA7200, MA5300 Integrated Amplifiers, MAC7200 Receiver, and C49 and C8 Preamplifiers, the DA2 is available as an optional, dealer-installed upgrade, offering enhanced features, expanded input options, and superior sound quality.

At the heart of the DA2 is a next-generation, Quad Balanced, 8-channel, 32-bit Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC), which supports native DSD512 playback and DXD up to 384kHz for exceptional clarity, dynamic range, and reduced harmonic distortion. The module features seven inputs two coaxial, two optical, one USB, one MCT, and one HDMI (Audio Return Channel or ARC). The addition of the HDMI ARC input allows connection to compatible TVs, enabling high-quality audio from your television to be routed through your McIntosh system. This feature supports two-way communication for volume control and lip-sync adjustment, ensuring perfect audio-video synchronization. When CEC communication is enabled, your TV remote can even control the power and volume of your McIntosh unit.

The DA2 also fully supports popular multi-channel audio formats from Dolby® and DTS®, converting them expertly to 2-channel playback for audiophile-quality sound. Its USB input delivers enhanced high-resolution playback, while coaxial and optical inputs support digital audio up to 24-bit/192kHz. The proprietary MCT input provides a secure connection for SACD playback from McIntosh MCT500 and MCT80 Transports, ensuring the highest fidelity for your SACD collection.

Due to its advanced technology, the DA2 module must be installed by a qualified professional at an Authorized McIntosh Dealer or Service Agency. Attempting installation outside of an authorized service center may void your McIntosh Limited Warranty.
