Description
The MIP200 Power Controller is a sophisticated and reliable solution designed to safeguard your premium home audio system from unexpected electrical disturbances. Built to protect your valuable components, it shields your setup from issues such as AC line surges, lightning-induced spikes, overvoltage, undervoltage, and brownouts. Using advanced line-to-neutral protection with a thermally protected metal-oxide varistor (TPMOV), the MIP200 eliminates the failure risks commonly associated with standard MOV-based designs, ensuring long-term stability and confidence.
In addition to surge protection, the MIP200 offers electromagnetic interference (EMI) filtering and advanced programmable over/under voltage protection. When voltage levels become unsafe, the unit automatically shuts off the protected outlets, restoring them only once normal, safe levels return keeping your system secure while preventing damage. To support diverse installation requirements, it is available in configurations featuring 4 Type B (NEMA 5-15R) outlets with dual receptacles or 4 Type F (“Schuko”) outlets with single receptacles. An always-on unswitched outlet ensures uninterrupted power to critical devices, while the remaining outlets can be controlled from the front panel, via rear-panel Power Control/RS232 ports, or configured as additional always-on outlets. Each outlet also features programmable startup delays to reduce inrush current and prevent tripped breakers.
Designed for versatility and integration, the MIP200 features a 2U rack-mountable chassis, making it ideal for custom home theater and whole-home audio installations. It fits seamlessly alongside McIntosh amplifiers such as the MI502, MI254, MI347, MI128, and MI1250, as well as processors including the MHT300 and MX200. Its clean installation footprint helps maintain an organized rack system while complementing the aesthetic of high-end audio environments.
On the front panel, a precision AC line monitor provides real-time input voltage, current draw, and total apparent power, giving users confidence and complete oversight of their system’s electrical health. Encased in McIntosh’s iconic black glass front panel with aluminum trim, illuminated logo, and machined control knobs, the MIP200 not only delivers superior protection but also stands as a luxurious addition to any high-performance audio setup.
