The WS500 In-Wall Loudspeaker is a high-performance, fully enclosed in-wall speaker designed to fit standard 2x4 wall construction, making it ideal for both distributed whole-home audio and dedicated home theater environments. Engineered for versatility, the WS500 can serve as a front, center, or surround channel, delivering exceptional clarity and balance from any position. It pairs perfectly with McIntosh MI128 or MI254 distribution amplifiers and integrates seamlessly with our WS300 in-wall speaker and CS200 in-ceiling speaker both of which it is voice-matched to for a unified and immersive listening experience. For home theaters, the WS500 performs flawlessly with McIntosh A/V processors and multi-channel amplifiers.

A fully enclosed 3-way design, the WS500 achieves remarkable performance regardless of the installation environment. Inside its acoustically optimized chamber are two 6.5-inch woofers, two 2-inch inverted titanium dome midranges, and one 3/4-inch titanium dome tweeter. The woofers feature a new shallow, long-throw design with molded carbon-reinforced cones and elastomeric surrounds, delivering high power handling, low distortion, and impressive linearity. The midrange and tweeter drivers are the same found in McIntosh’s renowned XR50 and XR100 speakers, ensuring a true high-fidelity sonic character.

The speaker’s magnetically attached grille allows for easy removal and is fully paintable, blending seamlessly into any interior. Once installed, the WS500 virtually disappears while delivering room-filling sound. It includes all necessary mounting hardware for post-construction installations, while an optional rough-in kit (#RK500) is available for new-build projects requiring precise placement and structural support.
