Co‑designed by legendary engineer John Curl, it features a dual-mono Class A/AB architecture with independent transformers per channel. With 160 W per channel into 8 Ω (240 W into 4 Ω) and bridgeable to 500 W, along with balanced XLR and gold-plated RCA inputs, the A23+ integrates seamlessly into stereo or home theater systems.

The Parasound Halo A 23+ Power Amplifier is a high-performance stereo power amplifier featuring circuitry designed by legendary engineer John Curl, combining high-bias Class A/AB operation with powerful, detailed sound reproduction. It delivers 160 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms and 240 watts RMS per channel into 4 ohms, with both channels driven, and provides 500 watts into 8 ohms in bridged mode. With a peak current capability of 45 amperes per channel, it remains stable with speaker impedance dips below 2 ohms, making it suitable for demanding speaker loads. Its direct-coupled signal path eliminates capacitors and inductors from the audio path, while discrete balanced input circuits and gold-plated RCA input and loop output jacks provide flexible connectivity.
The amplifier features a JFET input stage, MOSFET driver stage, and 12 beta-matched 15-ampere, 60 MHz bipolar output transistors. A 1.1 kVA shielded toroidal transformer with independent windings for each channel works alongside separate power supplies for the input, driver, and output stages, supported by 54,400 µF of output-stage filter capacitance and Harris hyper-fast soft-recovery bridge diode rectifiers. Full power is rated down to 5 Hz for deep, unrestricted low-frequency performance. DC servo and relay protection circuits, AC turn-on inrush surge protection with relay bypass, and automatic turn-on via a 12V trigger or audio sensing add convenience and protection. Heavy-duty 24-karat gold-plated five-way speaker binding posts provide secure connections. The amplifier features a two-rack-space chassis with rear carry handles, with rack-mount hardware available separately, and is available in silver or black.
