Designed by John Curl, the A52+ runs high‑bias Class A/AB in a direct‑coupled topology for effortless clarity. It delivers 180 W x5 into 8 Ω (255 W x5 into 4 Ω) with a custom 1.5 kVA toroidal transformer (independent secondary windings per channel) and 100,000 µF of reserve for clean current on demand. Full power is rated down to 5 Hz, and integration is simple: five XLR + five RCA inputs, plus 12 V trigger or audio‑sense auto‑on for any AVR/processor with pre‑outs.

The Parasound Halo A 52+ 5-Channel Power Amplifier is a high-performance amplifier designed by legendary engineer John Curl, featuring Class A/AB circuitry for powerful, controlled, and detailed sound reproduction. It delivers 180 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms or 255 watts RMS per channel into 4 ohms, with two-channel output ratings of 225 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms and 350 watts RMS per channel into 4 ohms. Its direct-coupled design eliminates capacitors and inductors from the audio signal path, helping preserve signal purity, while balanced XLR inputs feature discrete circuitry.

A custom 1.5 kVA encapsulated toroidal power transformer with independent secondary windings for each channel supports consistent power delivery, and the power supply provides 100,000 µF of filter capacitance. The amplifier uses hand-matched JFETs in the input stage, hand-matched MOSFETs in the driver stage, and beta-matched 15-amp, 60 MHz bipolar output transistors, with three pairs per channel. Full power is rated down to 5 Hz for deep, unrestricted low-frequency performance. DC servo and relay protection circuits help safeguard the amplifier and connected equipment, while automatic turn-on can be triggered by an audio signal or a 12V trigger. Finished with heavy-duty 24-karat gold-plated five-way speaker terminals, the A 52+ features a 3U chassis with updated cosmetics and supports rack mounting with the optional HRA3 rack-mount kit, sold separately.
