Parasound NewClassic 200 Integrated Amplifier & DAC

The Parasound NewClassic 200 Integrated Amplifier & DAC combines powerful Class D amplification with high-resolution digital audio processing and versatile connectivity for modern stereo systems. Delivering 110 watts per channel into 8 or 4 ohms, it features Class D amplification by Pascal and a Burr-Brown 192 kHz/24-bit DAC derived from the Halo P 5. Digital connectivity includes USB, optical, and coaxial audio inputs, while four analog audio inputs and a dedicated phono input support both moving-magnet (MM) and moving-coil (MC) cartridges. A pure analog signal path from input to output preserves the analog audio signal, while analog bass management with an adjustable 20–140 Hz high-pass crossover provides flexible speaker and subwoofer integration.

The 80 Hz low-pass subwoofer output, along with remote-controlled subwoofer on/off and level adjustment, offers convenient bass control. A full-range mono output can be used for a subwoofer or a separate mono listening area, while variable and fixed stereo preamplifier outputs support additional system configurations. A bypass input allows integration with a surround sound system or music streamer. User-friendly features include default power-on volume memory, a favourite-volume setting accessible via the remote, input level matching for balancing source volumes, and remote-controlled bass, treble, and balance adjustments.

The front-panel LCD display features adjustable dimming, while two-way RS232 connectivity provides precise volume control and feedback for system integration. Inputs can be renamed to match connected sources, and the front-panel auxiliary input offers an additional 12 dB of gain. A dedicated headphone amplifier supports personal listening, complemented by a backlit remote control with individual buttons. Additional integration features include a 12V trigger output and rear-panel IR input. With standby power consumption of just 5 watts, the amplifier meets Energy Star and EU specifications.
