A fully integrated state-of-the-art DSP yields extensive system management functionality. In addition to sound shaping and limiter functions in unique Powersoft style, the DSP hardware and ArmoníaPlus software enable compliance with IEC 60849 for the crucial requirements of sound systems for emergency purposes. 

Features

The amplifier incorporates Powersoft’s legendary universal switch-mode power supply, renowned for its reliability and efficiency. It operates with tolerance up to 400 VAC and includes built-in Power Factor Correction (PFC) for stable performance under varying loads. The patented output filter with a ripple cancellation network ensures cleaner signal output, while Low Inrush Limiting technology minimizes AC inrush current, removing the need for costly external power sequencers. For convenience and international compatibility, the unit is equipped with a detachable IEC C19/22.2 mains cable, supporting 16A for EU and 20A for the USA.

Built with comprehensive protection features, the amplifier is fully safeguarded against operational risks. AC protection shuts down the power supply when mains voltage is out of range, while a clip limiter ensures that severely clipped waveforms never reach the loudspeakers maintaining full peak output without distortion. Additional protection circuits include DC protection to eliminate infrasonic signals, VHF protection from inaudible high-frequency content, and short circuit protection with automatic reset. A long-term limiter reduces output in response to sustained non-audio RMS signals, preserving speaker integrity. Thermal protection covers operation up to 80°C (176°F), supported by a temperature-controlled variable-speed fan and front-to-back airflow for optimal cooling. A temperature forecasting system with LCD readout traces historical temperature behavior, enhancing system diagnostics.

Designed with practical deployment in mind, the unit features a fixed-frequency switch-mode output stage that delivers precise, high-grade sound. Its 1 RU form factor ensures minimal rack space requirements, and at just 7 kg (15.4 lbs), it’s highly portable for easy transport and installation. Connectivity is handled via standard Phoenix connectors for analog audio, auxiliary supply, alarms, and GPIO. Each channel supports a remotely switchable dual input (main and auxiliary), adding versatility for complex systems.

In terms of loudspeaker system configuration, the amplifier supports direct drive for both low-impedance and high-impedance (70V/100V Hi-Z) lines. Each channel includes a switchable high-pass filter (35 Hz / 70 Hz), and mixed Lo-Z / Hi-Z setups are fully supported. Additionally, bridged mode operation is available for low-impedance loads on paired channels.

For system alerts and control, the amplifier provides NC/NO alarm contacts per channel, a remote ON/OFF switch, and remote VCA control, making it suitable for integrated systems and safety-critical environments.

Advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) is powered by the TI C6000 platform, delivering robust performance and customisation. High-resolution dual 24-bit @ 48 kHz Tandem® AD/DA converters ensure transparent signal fidelity. Each channel includes independent input and output EQs, offering PEQ, raised cosine, and shelving IIR filters, as well as custom output FIR filters. The system includes delay capabilities up to 100 ms per channel for time alignment and Active DampingControl™, which compensates for signal losses across long speaker cable runs. Power is intelligently managed via peak limiters, RMS voltage and current limiters, and Powersoft’s TruePower™ technology.

Remote control and monitoring are seamlessly integrated. Software control is available through ArmoníaPlus and a dedicated WebApp, offering detailed diagnostics and configuration. On the hardware side, users can access attenuation control (0 dB to 26 dB), engage high-pass filters (35 Hz / 70 Hz), toggle between Lo-Z, Hi-Z, 70V, and 100V outputs, and fine-tune gain settings (26 dB to 35 dB). This combination of software and hardware flexibility makes the amplifier a powerful solution for demanding and dynamic audio environments.
