Quattrocanali 1204 offers the traditionally amazing sound quality and reliability of all Powersoft products.The patented SRM (Smart Rails Management) technology allows to maximize the efficiency of the system and drastically reduce power consumption in any load and usage condition. Quattrocanali features the lowest thermal dissipation in the industry, reducing the need for external cooling devices.Quattrocanali is designed to operate with Lo-Z (from 2 Ω) and 70V/100V distributed lines or any mix of the two. DSP+D versions of the Quattrocanali grant in-depth control and monitoring via ArmoníaPlus, tailoring the sound and managing the system can be done by a remote, decentralised location. This Amplifier Platform can also be trusted in mission-critical applications, such as fire alarm systems, thanks to the cleverly engineered power supply that allows reliable operation even when connected to a UPS.

Features

The Powersoft Quattrocanali 1204 DSP+D is a versatile 4-channel amplifier equipped with DSP and Dante™ networking, tailored for fixed installations that demand reliability, control, and high audio fidelity. Its power supply system includes a patented output filter with ripple cancellation, ensuring clean and stable power delivery, while low inrush limiting eliminates the need for external power sequencers. The unit also features a detachable AC mains cable with IEC C19/22.2 compatibility, supporting both EU (16A) and USA (20A) installations.

Built-in protection mechanisms safeguard both the amplifier and connected loudspeakers. These include AC protection, clip limiting, DC and VHF protection, and short circuit protection with automatic reset. A long-term limiter manages continuous RMS signals to prevent speaker damage, while thermal protection ensures stable operation up to 80°C. A temperature-controlled variable-speed fan with front-to-back airflow maintains optimal cooling, supported by a temperature forecast function with an LCD display that logs thermal behavior.

In terms of form factor, the amplifier features a fixed-frequency switch-mode output stage for precise sound reproduction, all within a compact 1RU chassis weighing only 7 kg (15.4 lbs). Standard Phoenix connectors provide streamlined connectivity for analog outputs, auxiliary supply, alarms, and GPIO. Each channel supports remotely switchable double inputs (main and aux), offering flexible signal routing.

The user-configurable settings offer deep control, with defeatable clip limiters, digital gain-attenuator control, channel-specific gate control, and user-selectable gain/sensitivity. Users can also define maximum output power and mains current draw per channel. For system security, the entire setup can be locked with a user-defined access code, and full remote operation is available via the RS-485 interface.

At the heart of its digital signal processing, the Quattrocanali 1204 DSP+D uses the TI C6000 DSP platform, paired with dual 24-bit @ 48 kHz AD/DA converters using Tandem® architecture. Each channel supports independent EQ filters (PEQ, raised cosine, IIR, FIR), delay of up to 100 ms for time alignment, and Active DampingControl™ to compensate for cable losses. Power protection is enhanced with Peak, RMS voltage/current, and TruePower™ limiters.

For remote control and monitoring, the amplifier integrates seamlessly with Powersoft’s ArmoníaPlus software, providing in-depth diagnostics and system management. A dedicated WebApp enables browser-based control, while users can fine-tune audio with attenuation control (0dB–26dB), high-pass filters (35Hz/70Hz), Lo-Z/Hi-Z/70V/100V output selection, and adjustable gain settings (26dB to 35dB) per channel. Altogether, the Quattrocanali 1204 DSP+D delivers power, intelligence, and flexibility for demanding professional audio environments.
