Quattrocanali is designed to operate with Lo-Z (from 2 Ω) and 70V/100V distributed lines or any mix of the two.DSP+D versions of the Quattrocanali grant in-depth control and monitoring via Armonìa, tailoring the sound and managing the system can be done by a remote, decentralised location. This Amplifier Platform can also be trusted in mission-critical applications, such as fire alarm systems, thanks to the cleverly engineered power supply that allows reliable operation even when connected to a UPS.

The Powersoft Quattrocanali 2404 DSP is a powerful and flexible 4-channel amplifier, engineered for installation environments that demand efficient power distribution, pristine audio quality, and extensive control capabilities. It incorporates an advanced power supply system featuring a patented ripple cancellation filter to reduce noise and ensure clean audio output. The inclusion of low inrush limiting removes the need for costly external power sequencers, while a detachable AC mains cable with IEC C19/22.2 socket (16A EU / 20A USA) offers installation flexibility across regions.

Robust protection features ensure reliable operation and long-term speaker safety. These include AC protection to shut down during voltage anomalies, a clip limiter to maintain audio integrity, and DC/VHF protection to block damaging signals. Short circuit protection with auto-reset, a long-term limiter to guard against sustained non-audio signals, and thermal protection up to 80°C enhance system durability. Efficient thermal management is handled by a variable-speed fan with front-to-back airflow and a temperature forecast system that displays historical thermal data on an LCD, helping anticipate cooling needs.

From a hardware standpoint, the Quattrocanali 2404 DSP is built with a fixed-frequency switch-mode output stage for high-fidelity sound, all housed in a compact 1RU chassis weighing only 7 kg (15.4 lbs), optimizing space and transport. Phoenix connectors allow for easy analog, alarm, and GPIO connections. Remote switching between main and auxiliary inputs per channel further expands flexibility in routing and control.

The amplifier offers detailed user-configurable settings, including defeatable clip limiters, digital gain/attenuation control, defeatable gate per channel, and user-adjustable gain/sensitivity, max output power, and mains current draw. For added security, the entire configuration can be locked with a user-defined access key. Remote control and system monitoring are enabled through the RS-485 interface, allowing diagnostics and adjustments without physical access.

Under the hood, the DSP engine is driven by the TI C6000 platform, with dual 24-bit @ 48 kHz AD/DA converters using Tandem® architecture to deliver professional-grade audio resolution. Each channel is equipped with independent EQ options including PEQ, raised cosine, shelving IIR, and custom FIR filters. A 100 ms delay ensures precise time alignment, while Active DampingControl™ compensates for long cable runs. Peak, RMS voltage/current, and TruePower™ limiters maintain optimal performance and prevent overdrive.

For remote monitoring and control, the amplifier integrates seamlessly with Powersoft’s ArmoníaPlus software, providing real-time diagnostics and configuration tools. A dedicated WebApp enables browser-based access to system status and settings. On the hardware side, users benefit from precise attenuation control (0–26 dB), switchable high-pass filters (35Hz/70Hz), output mode selection (Lo-Z, Hi-Z, 70V, 100V), and adjustable gain (26–35 dB) per channel, ensuring maximum adaptability for any installation scenario.
