Description
Quattrocanali 4804 DSP 4800W
Quattrocanali 4804 offers the traditionally amazing sound quality and reliability of all Powersoft products. The patented SRM (Smart Rails Management) technology allows to maximize the efficiency of the system and drastically reduce power consumption in any load and usage condition. Quattrocanali features the lowest thermal dissipation in the industry, reducing the need for external cooling devices.
Quattrocanali is designed to operate with Lo-Z (from 2 Ω) and 70V/100V distributed lines or any mix of the two. DSP versions of the Quattrocanali grant in-depth control and monitoring via Armonìa, tailoring the sound and managing the system can be done by a remote, decentralised location.
Quattrocanali 4804 DSP+D is a 4-Channel, Class D power amplification platform designed for small-to-medium scale installations where system flexibility is a must. The Quattrocanali Series operates with both Lo-Z and 70V/100V distributed lines, or any mix of the two. Quattrocanali amplifiers also feature patented SRM (Smart Rail Management) technology, which recycles the reactive energy coming back from the loudspeakers, helping lower overall power consumption, reducing heat dissipation, and keeping operating costs to a minimum.
Quattrocanali 4804 DSP+D offers extensive amplifier control, as well as system and load monitoring via PC and ArmoníaPlus. This Amplifier Platform can also be trusted in mission-critical applications, such as fire alarm systems, thanks to the cleverly engineered power supply that allows reliable operation even when connected to a UPS.
Features
This power amplifier system showcases a highly advanced and protective design, integrating both robust hardware and intelligent digital processing. Its power supply section features a patented output filter with ripple cancellation for clean signal delivery, and Low Inrush Limiting to reduce startup current surges eliminating the need for external power sequencers. It also includes a detachable IEC C19/22.2 mains cable supporting regional standards (16A EU, 20A USA).
The amplifier is engineered with comprehensive protection mechanisms to safeguard both the system and connected loudspeakers. These include AC protection (which shuts down the unit during voltage irregularities), clip limiting to preserve audio integrity, and DC protection against infrasonic signals. Additional safeguards like VHF protection, short circuit protection, thermal protection (up to 80°C), and a long-term RMS limiter ensure long-lasting reliability. Thermal management is aided by a temperature-controlled, variable-speed fan with front-to-back airflow and LCD-based temperature tracking.
Its switch-mode output stage maintains high audio fidelity, while the 1RU form factor and 7 kg weight make it highly rack- and transport-friendly. Phoenix connectors handle analog audio, alarms, GPIO, and auxiliary supply, with remotely switchable dual inputs per channel for flexibility. For customisation, the unit offers digital gain controls, clip limiters, gate options, and user-definable settings for gain, output power, and mains current draw. Setup security is enforced with a lockable configuration via access code, and remote control is available via RS-485.
On the DSP side, it features a TI C6000 platform with 24-bit Tandem® AD/DA conversion at 48 kHz, supporting independent PEQ, shelving, raised cosine IIR, and custom FIR filters per channel. Delay adjustments up to 100 ms, Active DampingControl™ and TruePower™ limiters enhance performance and protection.
Control and monitoring are accessible via ArmoniaPlus software and a dedicated WebApp, as well as through hardware options including attenuation control, high-pass filtering, output mode selection (Lo-Z/Hi-Z/70V/100V), and gain adjustment from 26dB to 35dB. This system is ideal for high-performance audio installations demanding precise control, reliability, and compact integration.
