Following Rotel's updated MKII design architecture, the RMB-1585MKII incorporates both circuit and component upgrades in the power supply and amplifier stages to delivering ultra-low distortion, signal isolation, and high-gain output power efficiently packaged in a single, multi-channel amplifier chassis.

Features
The Rotel MK II 1585 is a high-performance, five-channel power amplifier engineered for demanding home theater and high-fidelity audio systems. It delivers an impressive 210 watts per channel into 8 ohms across the full audio spectrum (20 Hz to 20,000 Hz) with exceptionally low total harmonic distortion of just 0.03%, even when all channels are driven. Designed for flexibility, it is stable down to 4 ohms, making it compatible with a broad range of loudspeakers. The amplifier utilizes a robust Class AB topology and is powered by dual, custom-built toroidal transformers, ensuring consistent, noise-free operation. Supporting these transformers are eight high-efficiency energy storage capacitors that provide a substantial reserve of current for dynamic audio playback.
Its wide frequency response of 10 Hz to 100,000 Hz (within a tight tolerance of +0.1/-0.3 dB) and a signal-to-noise ratio of 120 dB underscore the amplifier’s ability to deliver clean, detailed sound. For thermal management, the unit features four thermostat-controlled, variable-speed ultra-low-noise fans that maintain optimal operating temperatures without introducing audible distractions. A rear panel switch allows users to select between standard 5-channel output and a bi-amp mode, in which channels 1+2 and 4+5 mirror each other for more efficient bi-amping of compatible front left and right speakers. Additionally, the Rotel MK II 1585 is rack-mountable (with optional hardware sold separately) and features a detachable power cord for easy installation and setup.
