SVS Prime Series Prime Bookshelf Speaker

Prime Bookshelf

Versatile two-way bookshelf speaker designed for stereo and home theater. A 1-inch aluminum dome tweeter, 6.5-inch woofer, SoundMatch crossover, and 48Hz–25kHz frequency response deliver clear, detailed sound, accurate imaging, surprising bass extension, and powerful dynamics from a compact cabinet.

The Prime Bookshelf speakers are sonic overachievers on all levels. Stunningly dynamic, pinpoint accurate and utterly transparent, they deftly serve as reference monitor loudspeakers in a two-channel system, or as high performance front, center, or side/rear surround speakers in a multi-channel home theater.

Borrowing engineering and design cues from the acclaimed Ultra Series and embodying all the traits of a truly high-end speaker, the Prime Bookshelf speakers convey accurate spatial imaging, throw an expansive soundstage and deliver uncompromising fidelity throughout the frequency spectrum. The effortless low frequency extension, commanding but detailed midrange and airy, unveiled highs far exceed expectations of other speakers in its class. Even the cabinet geometry and internal bracing are optimized for uncompromised audio playback and complemented by stunning piano gloss and black ash finishes.

Standing out among bookshelf speakers is no easy task, yet the SVS Prime Bookshelf speaker is designed to outperform reference monitors costing twice as much or more. Every aspect of its construction focuses on sonic excellence, from the premium-grade driver and sophisticated SoundMatch crossover to the extra-thick front baffle, internal bracing and FEA-optimised tweeter diffuser. Its design and engineering deliver performance associated with much costlier and larger speakers.

Prime Driver & Tweeter Design

The SVS Prime Bookshelf speaker features a 6.5-inch woofer housed in its own dedicated, fully sealed compartment to ensure smooth, precise and clear midrange and bass reproduction without unwanted coloration. Its lightweight and rigid cone maintains a flat frequency response while providing excellent performance across the fundamental midrange frequencies. Despite its compact cabinet size, the speaker delivers deep and effortless low-frequency extension, with the ability to reach reference playback levels while maintaining clarity, low distortion and ample headroom.

The 1-inch aluminium dome tweeter is lightweight, efficient and rigid, delivering clear and detailed high frequencies even at high volume levels. Its transparent and airy presentation ensures that female vocals, dialogue, high-frequency sound effects and musical details sound crisp, smooth and natural.

Innovative SoundMatch Crossover Design

The SVS SoundMatch two-way crossover is designed to complement the performance of the premium drivers. Its tapered array minimises the potential for beaming, creating an expansive yet focused and precise soundstage with accurate frequency response across different listening positions in the room. Carefully tuned crossover integration also helps maintain precise reproduction of high, mid and low frequencies while preserving signal purity.

Performance-Driven Cabinet Design and Geometry

The Prime Bookshelf speaker features tapered edges, known as chamfers, on its front baffle to minimise edge diffraction and support clear, precise sound-staging. Its cabinet combines a modern industrial appearance with acoustic enhancements, including shorting rings and a tweeter diffuser. These performance-focused design elements are incorporated into a compact and attractive enclosure that can be mounted in different locations. The speaker is available in Piano Gloss Black and premium Black Ash finishes.
